Online Booking Terms and Conditions
The terms and conditions detailed below apply to all bookings made with Guisborough Hotels Limited, whether at www.gisborough-hall.com or by telephone or otherwise. Please note that for promotional bookings the relevant additional terms and conditions should be consulted.
When you make a booking, your contract (which shall include these terms and conditions) will be with Guisborough Hotels Limited, which shall mean in these terms and conditions Guisborough Hotels Limited, Whitby Lane, Guisborough TS14 6PT.
Dinner reservations and Spa treatments cannot be guaranteed on line. If your booking includes dinner, please contact the hotel direct to book your slot prior to completion of your online booking. Please note that the price being offered currently can not be guaranteed should you not complete your booking at this stage.
All rates featured on the Guisborough Hotels Limited Website or quoted by telephone or otherwise are offered subject to availability and Guisborough Hotels Limited reserves the right to refuse any booking for good reason.
Guisborough Hotels Limited offer a choice of room only, bed and breakfast or dinner, bed and breakfast rates. All prices are subject to availability.
We offer a full range of packages and pricing, as detailed below. Our packages and pricing will fluctuate depending on availability and demand at any given time. All prices are subject to change without notice. Prices are subject to availability and are inclusive of VAT at the current prevailing rate. Your price is guaranteed once you have been given a confirmation number. Indicative alternative currency rates used to estimate cost and balance of cost are based on current exchange rates and are subject to fluctuation.
ADVANCE PURCHASE RATES
In general, our Advance Purchase rates are available 7 days or more before the date of arrival, and are fully prepaid at time of booking. Advance Purchase Rates are non refundable and non transferable. The credit/debit card used to book the Advance Purchase rate must be presented to reception on arrival at the hotel. Please note that failure to do so will result in an alternative payment method being required.
BEST FLEXIBLE RATES
In general, our Best Flexible Rates are available until the day of arrival. These rates allow you to alter or cancel your booking up until 2pm on the day of arrival without charge. Cancellations made after 2pm on the day of arrival will incur a one night’s room charge.
PROMOTION & PARTNERSHIP RATES
These rates will require a promotion code. Separate terms and conditions may apply which will take precedence over these standard booking terms and conditions.
For the avoidance of doubt, your price does not include any incidental charges which you may incur during your stay (including, by way of example only, in respect of your use of the hotel’s bar and mini-bar facilities and the costs of external telephone calls from your room). Such charges will be payable by you on your departure and, in the event that you fail to pay any such incidental charges, it is a condition of your contract with Guisborough Hotels Limited that you irrevocably authorise Guisborough Hotels Limited to debit your credit or debit card (see ‘Deposits and Pre-payments’ below) for the amount of any shortfall.
WHAT THE PRICE INCLUDES
Prices for breaks include twin or double bedrooms (single room for single guests) with colour TV, direct dial telephone and private en-suite bathroom. Our bed and breakfast and dinner, bed and breakfast inclusive rates incorporate a saving on our standard hotel prices.
During major sporting events, social events, conference and exhibitions certain rates may not be available. Certain dates may be subject to a minimum length of stay. All rates are subject to availability.
EXECUTIVE & FEATURE ROOMS
Executive, Feature, Four Poster Rooms and Suites may be available at a supplement per night. Generally these rooms offer more space and a selection of superior amenities and toiletries. Family rooms may be available. Please ask for details at time of booking.
Individual guests using a single room (where available) may benefit from a reduced rate. When no single room is available, individual guests may book a double or twin room for sole occupancy. These rooms may carry a supplement.
Up to two children aged 12 and under can stay and take breakfast when sharing a suitable room with two adults on the same room basis.
The hotel will determine whether a room is suitable for the purpose of this offer. Feature rooms are excluded from this offer. Children staying in their own room will be charged 100% of the full adult rate paid by the accompanying adults.
GUESTS WITH IMPAIRED MOBILITY
Our hotel offers modified facilities for guests with impaired mobility. Guests with impaired mobility or other particular requirements should check with the hotel in advance that their requirements can be met. Please call the hotel direct for details.
The hotel is able to accommodate dogs, at the manager’s discretion, for £15.00 per night.
Car parking is free at our hotels.
CHECKING IN AND OUT
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Hotel rooms are available from 2pm on the day of arrival unless otherwise stated on hotels Useful Information page. Rooms must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the hotel manager.
Rates which include breakfast offer a full traditional or continental breakfast with tea or coffee, unless stated otherwise. Rates which include dinner offer a choice from the hotel’s table d’hôte menu. There is no refund for meals which are not taken by guests and lunch cannot be taken in place of dinner.
HEALTH AND WELLBEING
Please check online for the range of facilities at this hotel. A charge will be made for the use of certain facilities, such as spa treatments. Your use of such facilities is subject to any particular terms and conditions applying at the hotel.
If you have had or are suffering from severe allergies, ill health, a particular medical condition or are pregnant we advise you to speak to your GP prior to arrival to ensure you can use Macdonald Spa full facilities, services and treatments. All treatments booked are subject to medical status. We reserve the right to refuse treatment/s if we feel it is not in the best interest of the Client.

When you make your booking you will be asked to guarantee your booking with a valid debit/credit card if booked on Best Flexible Rate, or to prepay if booked on our Advance Purchase Rates, partnership or promotional rates.
A booking of eight rooms or more is classified as a group and is subject to our Group Terms & Conditions of business, which differ from our Best Available and Advance Purchase rates. Please contact Reservations for further details.
BALANCE OF MONIES OUTSTANDING
Prior to your departure from the hotel you will be required to settle your bill.
On arrival you will be asked to produce a valid credit card for the hotel to take pre-authorisation. If you are settling your account in cash or with a debit card, you will be asked for a deposit to cover the cost of your room for your stay (any extras which you may incur in the hotel will not be chargeable to your room account). Guisborough Hotels Limited accepts all major credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
Alternatively, payment can be made by cheque supported by a current cheque guarantee card. The credit/debit card used to book the Advance Purchase rate must be presented to reception on arrival at the hotel.
GIFT VOUCHERS & VOUCHER PRIZES
Guisborough Hotels Limited gift vouchers should be presented on check-in, when paying for your meal or on arrival at our Revival Zone.
Gift vouchers and vouchers used as competition prizes, unless otherwise specified on the voucher, are valid for six months from date of issue. If you have a prize voucher and wish to extend the validity date, please contact the hotel on 0344 879 9149.
Gift vouchers can be used to settle accounts in either in full or part payment, but change cannot be given. Vouchers can only be used up to a maximum of £2,000 in any one transaction. Gift vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, replaced if lost and is non-transferable. No refund of money will be made once voucher has been purchased and no change can be given unless Guisborough Hotels Limited withdraw vouchers without prior notice. Guisborough Hotels Limited cannot accept responsibility for the loss or theft of a Guisborough Hotels Limited gift voucher after it has been issued. Guisborough Hotels Limited reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions. No photocopies will be accepted.
CANCELLATION & AMENDMENTS
All cancellations are made in accordance with the cancellation terms of the rate booked.
Advance Purchase Rates are non refundable and non transferable and full pre-payment will be forfeited.
Best Flexible Rates may be cancelled up until 2pm on the date of arrival without charge, after which a charge for the first night’s accommodation shall be payable.
Promotion and Partnership rates may only be cancelled in accordance with the specific terms applying to that rate which will be advised at the time of booking.
A cancellation number must be obtained to ensure that minimum charges are levied.
Whilst every effort is made to fulfil any particular requests which you may make in relation to your stay with us, please note that these requests do not form part of our contract and we cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet any particular requests.
In the unlikely event that we have to change or cancel your reservation, we reserve the right to do so. However, you have the right to:
- accept the changed arrangements as notified; or
- make alternative arrangements with Guisborough Hotels Limited; or
- cancel your reservation and receive a full refund of any monies which you have paid to Guisborough Hotels Limited in respect of your reservation (please note that we shall not be liable for any sums which you have paid to any other persons in connection with your reservation).
For the avoidance of doubt, we shall have no further liability to you for any changes to or the cancellation of any stay with us.
COMPLAINTS OR COMMENTS
Any complaint or comment regarding a stay at our hotel should be made in the first instance to the hotel’s duty manager at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved at the time.
Problems which cannot be resolved there and then should be notified in writing to The General Manager, Gisborough Hall, Whitby Lane, Guisborough, TS14 6PT.
Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information set out on our websites and marketing campaigns, we cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions, and reserve the right to vary, amend, supplement or cancel any of the information or offers featured on our websites or email campaigns or otherwise at any time.
All details are correct at time of going to print, however may be subject to change from time to time.
Guisborough Hotels Limited shall not be responsible for any loss or damage which you may suffer arising out of events beyond its control or the control of its suppliers (including, without limitation, fire, failure of electrical, gas or other power supplies, strikes, industrial action, terrorist activity, technical problems with transport, illness of entertainers and bad weather), nor for any curtailment, cancellation or change to any accommodation, activity or itinerary or any other consequences which arise as a result of such events.
For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these terms and conditions shall operate to attempt to exclude or limit Guisborough Hotels Limited ‘ liability for the death or personal injury of any person caused by the negligence of Guisborough Hotels Limited or its employees, servants or agents or to attempt to exclude or limit Guisborough Hotels Limited‘ liability in any manner which would be unlawful.
These terms and conditions shall be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which the hotel for which you make your booking is situated.
Book direct for the best deals
Book directly through our website and receive £10 credit to spend during your stay, when you book our 'best available rate'. Your £10 credit will be waiting for you at check in and can be redeemed against almost anything you choose during your stay with us. What about a pre dinner drink?
