Sakura Spa: the story behind the name & concept

‘Sakura’, the Japanese word for cherry blossom, beautifully captures the spirit that has inspired both the design and experience of our spa. Though the spa isn’t designed with a Japanese theme, the symbolism of the Sakura flower guides our philosophy.

In Japanese culture, these delicate blossoms are cherished for their reminder of life’s fleeting beauty, as well as their celebration of spring, renewal, and vitality. These same ideas will lie at the heart of our spa.

We’re creating a sanctuary where calm comes effortlessly, a place where guests can slow down, reconnect, and feel grounded in the serenity of the surrounding woodland.

From the earliest stages of planning, our goal was simple, to create an inclusive retreat from the busy world. A space that is slow, gentle, and restorative—perfect for spending time with friends and loved ones, or simply escaping on your own.

Every aspect of Sakura Spa has been guided by a set of key principles, from design and sourcing suppliers to crafting the experiences our guests enjoy.
