About the Spa
Q: Where does the name Sakura come from?
Sakura is the Japanese word for Cherry Blossom. The meaning of the word resonated with our concept for the spa, symbolising renewal, beauty, and the fleeting nature of life. The design and concept of the spa was influenced by a lifestyle where we are deeply connected to nature, and thus better connected to our truest inner selves.
Q: Is the spa Japanese themed?
No, the spa is not Japanese themed, it is simply the inspiration behind the design, concept and name.
Q: How does the spa look and feel?
Uncluttered, architectural, clean yet textured. Earthy tones, autumn browns, woodland greens. Honest local timbers and clay tiles over the usual imports, knots and imperfections are embraced. A subtle nod to the past through a selection of timeless, tactile and recognisable materials implemented in contemporary arrangements. A place that refreshes and helps us to find balance. Calm, grounded, nurturing, cosy, a refuge in the storm of life.
